As the year comes to an end, Nor-Cal MMA takes a look back at the year in MMA. We recap the knockouts of the year. Enjoy.

10) Ricardo Lamas KO’s Bendy Casimir (WEC 47: Bowles vs Cruz)

Ricardo Lamas throws a flying knee to the jaw of his opponent. Notice the mouthpiece fly out in the video.

9) Paul Daley KO’s Scott Smith (Strikeforce: Henderson vs Babalu)

After getting banned from the UFC, knockout artist took his heavy hands to the Strikeforce organization. In a fight that had “knockout” written all over it, Daley showed that he’s still one of the top 170 lbs fighters in the world.

8) Carlos Condit KO’s Dan Hardy (UFC 120)

In his hunt for UFC gold, Carlos Condit took on welterweight contender, Dan Hardy in Hardy’s own backyard. What looked like to could have been a double knockout turned into one man with his hand raised and the other out cold.

7) Robbie Lawler vs Matt Lindland (Strikeforce: Henderson vs Babalu)

The perfect game plan would have been for Lindland to clinch and go for a takedown. But to everyones surprise, Lindland chose to stand and paid the ultimate price.

6) Rich Franklin vs Chuck Liddell (UFC 115)

Rich Franklin took on UFC legend Chuck Liddell in this fight. With his back against the fence, Franklin dug deep and threw a perfect counter punch.

5) Cain Velasquez KO’s Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (UFC 110)

Velasquez had been on a tear ever since stepping into the octagon. He carried the momentum with him to a fight with Rodrigo Nogueira.

4) KJ Noons vs Jorge Grugel (Strikeforce:Houston)

Despite being knocked down at the bell of round 1, Grugel got up and ready for round 2. Unfortunately, he got for round 2. Noons put on a clinic in this fight.

3) Sarah Kaufman vs Roxanne Modafferi (ShoMMA 9)

Women’s MMA hasn’t found its way into the hearts of fans. But hopefully this video clip will change a few things.

2) Shogun Rua KO’s Lyoto Machida (UFC 113)

A rematch to a controversial decision made this fight that much better. But Rua definitely made his case with this knockout win.

1) Cain Velasquez KO’s Brock Lesnar (UFC 121)

In the classic David vs Goliath war, Velasquez proved that size doesn’t matter. In what was a surprise to us all, Velasquez dominated this fight and took home the gold. Notice Lesnar’s breakdance moves.
